Invoices were one of the first targets for classical IDP tools. However, most solutions still struggle once formats become irregular, multi-language, or genuinely unstructured. Standard LLM or prompting approaches introduce additional uncertainty, as results are difficult to control, hard to trust, and rarely transparent enough for finance and compliance purposes. Teams end up reviewing and correcting data manually, while various tools accumulate around individual use cases, i.e., one product for invoices, another for orders, and another for delivery notes.
